I am a designer, studio founder, artist and educator with 20 years of experience in creating accessible websites and visual identities. My focus areas are typography, indie publishing and social change.
I am the creative director at Mangrove, an agency based in California with a team of web design and development practitioners around the globe. Our mandate is to help organizations drive social and environmental impact by creating accessible and sustainable websites. Previously, I managed Manoverboard, a design studio with hundreds of clients and a mission of creating a better world, by design. Manoverboard was the first Certified B Corp in the province. The studio triumphantly merged with Mangrove in January 2023.
I sometimes teach design and design theory to university students. My research interests include the history of vernacular typography and Jewish visual culture, as well as the strange and strained relationship between design and belief. I grew up in Philadelphia, and lived, worked and studied in New York before moving to Winnipeg, Canada.
