I created this site during the spring and summer of 2026. It's the third iteration of this site: version 1 and version 2 can be found on the WayBack Machine.
This site was built with:
- Writing: I use a number of different writing and note-taking tools, and often switch back and forth. I used Obsidian and Apple Notes for the most part.
- Typography: The typefaces on this site are from Pangram Pangram in Montréal and Family Type in Australia.
- Content management: The site and the Dear Designer newsletter is powered by Ghost, a non-profit, open source and carbon neutral platform.
- Copy + Paste: That satisfying combinations of ⌘-C and ⌘-P invented by the late Larry Tesler (z"l).
- Design: Design concepts, composites and compositions by me using Figma and Photoshop.
- Music: A little bit of a lot of Aldous Harding, Kurt Vile and Philip Glass.
- Code: The site is built using a combination of hand-coding and Claude Code.
Thank you to everyone who has come into touch with this updated site in one way or another. That includes my wife, daughter, and Daniel Lamb — thank you for your superb design reviews.
